Blount County authorities arrested a 19-year-old Lawrence County fugitive who turned up at local residence Thursday and found himself held at gunpoint until officers arrived.
Blount County Sheriff James Berrong said Brian Keith Rummage, of Lawrenceburg, was arrested on Thursday morning.
Deputies and Maryville police officers responded to a call of a disturbance at a Dockery Drive residence at 9:30 a.m. Berrong, who was first to respond to the scene, said a woman was holding Rummage at gunpoint inside the residence. The woman's daughter is a distant friend of Rummage's, according to a release from the Blount County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies learned that Rummage was wanted on a Lawrence County warrant for allegedly walking away from a work release program on April 6. He was serving time in the Lawrence County Jail on forgery and worthless check charges. Early Thursday morning, Rummage allegedly stole a Jeep in Maury County and drove to Blount County.
He faces a charge of theft of a motor vehicle over $10,000 in Maury County. He was held at the Blount County Jail pending release to Maury and Lawrence County authorities. There are no charges pending against Rummage locally.
