Arrests

Martin Hernandez, 31, Bessie Harvey Avenue, Alcoa, was arrested by Blount County Sheriff's deputies on June 18 on charges of resisting arrest and no driver's license. He was released on $1,275 in bonds pending 9 a.m. June 24 hearings in Blount County General Sessions Court.

Charles Brian Morgan, 36, Bobcat Trail, Tallassee, was arrested by Blount County Sheriff's deputies on June 18 on a charge of violation of an order of protection. He was released on a $1,000 bond pending a 1:30 p.m. June 18 hearing in Blount County General Sessions Court.

Richard Charles Williams, 20, Cureton Avenue, Maryville, was arrested by Blount County Sheriff's deputies on June 19 on a charge of possession of a Schedule VI substance with intent to sell or deliver. He was released on a $1,000 bond pending a 9 a.m. June 24 hearing in Blount County General Sessions Court.

Thomas Eugene Justice, 40, Squirrel Run Road, Maryville, also charged with violation of probation granted after a misdemeanor conviction and a Loudon County warrant.

Alcoa

Richard Harmon, Powell, reported at 2 p.m. June 17 and said that while attempting to finalize the purchase of a vehicle at Eagle Automotive, 4040 Alcoa Highway, Alcoa, the business would not give him the title and license plate despite full payment of $8,900 for the 2004 Ford Mustang he was attempting to purchase. He has not been able to get a refund or the title and license plate to the vehicle.

Ralp Dennis George, Johnson City, reported at 2 p.m. June 17 that he bought a 2003 Nissan Pathfinder from Eagle Automotive, 4040 Alcoa Highway, Alcoa, on April 4, and received no title or license plate as promised. He told police he has called and stopped by to facilitate receipt of title and license plate, but to no avail. He paid $10,600 for the vehicle.

Lisa Ann Fowler, Camden, reported her purse taken at 11:30 a.m. June 18 while dining at Golden Palace Restaurant, 2468 Alcoa Highway, Alcoa. She told police she canceled all her cards, but activity was later reported on the cards.

Andrew Taylor, Rankin Road, Alcoa, reported at 10:15 a.m. June 18 someone took his cell phone from a backpack on the Alcoa High School football field at 532 Faraday Street, Alcoa. The phone was in possession of his grandson.

Blount County

Victor L. Loveday, Stanley Avenue, Maryville, reported at 11 a.m. June 18 that sometime overnight someone broke the passenger window of his vehicle and stole four pool cues, black leather carry case, Apple iPod and prescription medication. Estimated value of items was $13,152.

Vandalism

Alcoa

Edward Novak, Kings Court Road, Maryville, reported at 11:32 a.m. June 18 damage to the passenger side mirror of his wife's vehicle. The vehicle's mirror was damaged while parked at Blount Memorial Wellness Center, 220 Associates Blvd., Alcoa. Estimated loss is $300.

Alcoa

A 21-year-old Alcoa man said he punched his older brother, 24, same address, several times in the face at 7:10 p.m. June 18. He said his brother made some "personal statements" to him and all he remembers is blacking out. The older brother had left before police arrived. He was located at Fort Sanders Loudon Hospital. Police interviewed him by phone. He alleged his younger brother was "running his mouth" and started the fight. He alleged the younger brother hit him in the face several times, causing his nose to bleed. Police arrested the 21-year-old man on a charge of domestic violence assault. Legal options explained to the older brother.

Alcoa police responded at 4:15 p.m. June 18 on a domestic assault report. A 45-year-old Alcoa man alleged his 52-year-old ex-girlfriend and roommate argued, she slapped him in the face, and she acted like she was going to kick him in the genitals. The said they argued because he told her to leave the apartment, and then she allegedly hit him. Police found no red marks on the man. The woman was taken to jail on a charge of domestic assault.

A 40-year-old Knoxville woman was found slumped over the wheel of her car, parked at the Grade Road overpass on Pellissippi Parkway at 6:45 p.m. June 18. The car was running and still in gear. She was able to slowly open the door, and an officer took the car out of gear and turned off the engine. Police found a bottle of Ambien with a prescription of 30 pills. The bottle was empty. The woman was taken by ambulance to Blount Memorial Hospital.

Patricia Jennert, Temple Road, Maryville and Ricky L. Reno, Illinois Avenue, Seymour; 3:45 p.m. June 18 on Ellejoy Road at Old Walland Highway. Jennert, 67, was taken by Rural/Metro Ambulance Service to Blount Memorial Hospital where she was treated and released.

Animal Shelter

Maryville Animal Shelter, 426 Home Ave., Maryville, which also serves Alcoa, is open 1 to 4:30 p.m. Monday, 1 to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Photos of most of the adoptable animals can be seen at www.arfnets.org. Animals will be put to sleep on the date indicated unless someone calls for them and pays fees and board bills due.
