Arrests
- Jason Michael Ellsworth, 28, Middlesettlements Road, Maryville, was arrested by Blount County Sheriff's deputies on June 25 on charges of disorderly conduct and reckless endangerment (felony). He was being held in lieu of $5,500 in bonds pending 9 a.m. June 30 hearings in Blount County General Sessions Court.
- Johnny Lynn Newcomb, 37, Littlebrook Circle, Rockford, was arrested by Blount County Sheriff's deputies on June 25 on a charge of violation of an order of protection. He was being held in lieu of a $1,000 bond pending a 9 a.m. July 2 hearing in Blount County General Sessions Court.
- Christina Perez-Morales, 34, Taylor Road, Maryville, was arrested by Blount County Sheriff's deputies on June 25 on a Knox County warrant. She was being held for Knox County authorities.
- A 17-year-old Maryville resident was cited with theft by shoplifting at 8:46 p.m. June 24. The juvenile allegedly tried to conceal three electronic items valued at $118.64 and leave the store.
Arrested for contempt of court:
- Emory Keith Alderman, 31, Devoe Circle, Maryville, also served with two bond copies (withdrawal of responsibility by a bond company) on earlier charges of possession of a Schedule II substance and driving on a suspended license.
Thefts
Blount County
- Amy L. Vaughn, Best Road, Maryville, reported at 11:02 a.m. June 24 that someone used her personal identification information to make numerous accounts on Web sites.
- Jenny R. Moore, Hidden Circle, Louisville, reported at 2:08 p.m. June 24 theft of her silver and red 1974 Ford Bronco, worth $8,000, from a fenced area behind Sun Shine Septic Service, 2336 Old Knoxville Pike, Maryville.
- Tyrone A. Hickman, Keener Road, Seymour, reported at 8:11 p.m. June 24 theft of a red 1994 Ford F150 pickup truck, worth $5,000, from the driveway at his residence.
Maryville
- David L. Dunlap, Lambert Lane, Maryville, reported at 9:09 a.m. June 24 theft of a black 2006 Chevrolet C1500 truck, worth $17,000, from his residence. The truck was found at the Knoxville Police Department impound lot after being involved in a hit-and-run accident and was being held by Knoxville officers.
- Johnny M. Hackworth, Old Whites Mill Road, Maryville, reported at 1:35 p.m. June 24 theft of a Stihl chain saw, Stihl string trimmer and Waterloo tool box containing multiple tools, from the back of his pickup truck while parked at Advanced Auto Parts, 1756 W. Broadway Ave., Maryville, on June 22. Total loss was estimated at $2,470.
Animal Shelter
Maryville Animal Shelter, 426 Home Ave., Maryville, which also serves Alcoa, is open 1 to 4:30 p.m. Monday, 1 to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Photos of most of the adoptable animals can be seen at www.arfnets.org. Animals will be put to sleep on the date indicated unless someone calls for them and pays fees and board bills due.
