Political station needs assistance

Dear Editor:
I would like to start this article by stating that WBCR Truth Radio 1470 AM is one of the best resources that the citizens of Blount County and Knoxville have to stay on top of political agendas, local, state and federal. The station provides an outlet for individuals to discuss their concerns and ideas for responsible, accountable government and to keep abreast of upcoming votes on important issues. It provides contact information for public officials, full coverage of meetings, and information regarding elections.
It is an outlet that we cannot afford to be without, for anyone concerned about a Constitutional government of "we the people."
Unfortunately, WBCR Radio was hit by lightening last week and incurred major damage. It will be some time before the station will be back to normal, having to invest thousands of dollars in new equipment.
In the meantime, I would like to ask the listeners of WBCR to make any contributions possible to keep our programing on the air. I am sure that Harry Grothjahn would appreciate whatever help you can render, either monetary or in man hours (he needs people to sit at the station to punch in advertisement breaks).
Any donation can be mailed to Harry Grothjahn at WBCR Radio 1470 AM, P.O. Box 130, Alcoa, TN 37701.
If you have any questions or would like me to collect and forward your donation, my contact number is 681-0662.
Sincerely,
Linda King
