A 24-foot boat caught fire on Fort Loudoun Lake in Louisville on Friday.

The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency is investigating the fire, which started at around 7:45 p.m. Friday.

Two people were reported on board and later taken to Concord Marina.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined by authorities, according to Blount County Fire Department Chief Doug McClanahan.

"No one is hurt," he said.

McClanahan said the boat is a cabin cruiser. It was reported on fire when it was more than 100 feet from the shore.

The burning boat was closest to the Lake Meadow Way access point near Chota Hills subdivision, but doesn't belong to any of its residents.

The name of the boat's owner wasn't available at press time on Friday.

McClanahan said the TWRA was able to get the boat close enough to shore for firefighters to fight the blaze from both land and water.

The BCFD had 15 firefighters on the scene, several trucks, and its rescue boat.

The Blount County Sheriff's Office and Rural/Metro Ambulance Service also responded to the boat fire to provide assistance to firefighting agencies.
