Mark Dyer raced his Tennessee RV sportsman from fourth starting spot to claim round 5 of "Hot Summer Night Tire Fights" on American Racers.

David Crabtree led the first 14 laps until he experienced mechanical problems. Dyer took over the lead ahead of pole sitter Mark Rosner. Dyer would take command over the last half of the race to win his second feature of 2009. Rosner settled for second and maintains a slight advantage in the tire war on Hoosier race tires. Brandon Williams, Robby Moses and Robert Edwards raced home to finish in the top five respectively.

Joshua Moore won his second feature of 2009 in the Mini Late Models. Kyle Courtney won his second back-to-back in the second feature.

Spunky Brown won his first feature of the year in the Pure Minis from the outside pole. Teammate Joe Freels came from deep in the field to place second. The 2008 champ, Scott Webb, took home third, and points leader Tony Dunkley finished fourth. Angie Young raced her way to a very deserving fifth.

Josh Henry won a very exciting finish in the Nesmith Late Models over pole sitter Steve Jones. Henry took the lead early from Jones, but could not stretch it more than one car length. The two front row racers were nose-to-tail the entire event until the white flag. Veteran Jones made a timely move on Henry for the lead and raced side-by-side to the checkers, with Henry gaining a stronger run off turn four to win the crowd-pleasing show. Hunter Best was a solid third, while Weston Gantte and Justin Summers were fourth and fifth.

Points leader Tom Vann won another feature in the Mini Stock from the pole. David Lewis led the event early but retired with handling problems. Greg Muse and David Benson put on a fine show battling for the second spot, with Muse hanging on to the flag stand. Benson managed third and long-time racer Allen Collins sped home in fourth.

Kendall White won the Modified Minis from the pole. Tommy Newton was a strong second. Jason Carter, Jason Ritchey and Roy Smith filled out the top five.

The Street Stock began the night of racing with one of the most exciting events of the season. Travis Reno made his 2009 debut on the pole and was passed early by Jonathan Sims. Reno regained the lead, but midway through the race he experienced handling issues and was passed by Sims. Sims took the white flag as the leader, but his motor failed on the last lap, allowing Jeff McLemore to win his third feature of the year. Todd Merriman fought his way to second while Reno limped home in third. Josh Knight and Lloyd Hall finished out the top five. An anonymous fan has set a $200 bounty in the Street Stock. Any driver who beats Sims and McLemore in the coming weeks will take home the additional cash.

This Saturday will be the return of "Tennessee Thunder Dirt Car Series" plus all other regular racing classes.
