Two uncompleted sections of the Foothills Parkway have been reopened to non-motorized recreational use, according to the National Park Service.
Bikers, hikers and horse riders can use either the nine-mile section from Walland to a dead end or the four-mile section from Wears Valley to a dead end.
The Park expects to close both sections again when construction resumes next spring on the Walland end, and sometime in the summer or fall of 2010 on the Wears Valley segment.
