Students reporting on school's activities during year

The Daily Times is announcing its 2009 school correspondents who will be writing for the newspaper during this school year.
The middle school and high school students will take turns writing each week on what's happening in the classroom along with information on fundraisers, field trips, awards, etc.
The students' columns will appear in The Daily Times each Tuesday through May in the LifeTimes section.
Here are your 2009 correspondents:
nMary Baker is an eighth-grader at Union Grove Middle School. She is the daughter of Kenneth and Conchita Baker, of Maryville. Mary's favorite subject is algebra. She plays Upward Basketball and enjoys being a team captain and raising money for the Alzheimer's Association.
nTaylor Crosby is a senior at Alcoa High School. He is the son of Neil and Elizabeth Crosby, of Rockford. His favorite subject in school is science. His extracurricular activities include being a member of the Alcoa City Schools Tech Team, and a volunteer at Children's Hospital. He also works with the Alcoa Educational Access Channel 3.
nHannah O. Evans is in the 10th grade at Maryville Christian School. She is the daughter of Carol and Jeff Evans, of Maryville. Hannah's favorite subject in school is biology. Her hobbies and interests include soccer, reading, playing the violin and piano and singing.
nStephen Faulkenberry is a senior at Heritage High School. He is the son of Donald and Nyana Hill, of Walland. His favorite subject is math. Stephen is the editor-in-chief of the Heritage High School yearbook and a member of the Political Action Club. He plays the piano and enjoys science fiction writing. He also assists his youth group with audio/visuals.
nJessica Gentry is an eighth-grader at Eagleton Middle School. She is the daughter of Denise Madison, of Maryville. Jessica's favorite subject is English. Her interests and hobbies include photography, art, soccer and animals.
n Nia Haller is in the eighth grade at Carpenters Middle School. She is the daughter of Christina and Jason Haller. Her favorite subjects in school are social studies and history. She plays volleyball, runs cross-country and enjoys horseback riding.
n Grace Ann Headrick is in the seventh grade at Maryville Middle School. She is the daughter of Robert and Melinda Headrick, of Maryville. Her favorite subject is science. Grace Ann plays soccer, loves to hike, swim, talk, participate in forensics and she likes being a big sister.
n Ashley King, an eighth-grader at Alcoa Middle School. She is the daughter of Amy and Randy King, of Alcoa. Her favorite subject in school is science. Her extracurricular activities include cheerleading, soccer, Y-Teens, Destination Imagination, and a member of the 2009-2009 homecoming. She is an honor roll student.
n Marie Pardi, a senior at Maryville High School. She is the daughter of Sandor Pardi, of Maryville. Marie's favorite subjects are English and biology and she enjoys writing for her school newspaper. She is also active in the French Club and Mission Smiles. She is editor-in-chief of the MHS student newspaper.
n Karah Renfro is a student at Heritage Middle School.
n Katie Spears is a senior at William Blount High School. She is the daughter of Betsy Spears, of Maryville. Katie's favorite subjects are math and science. She enjoys bowling, playing the piano, community service, hanging out with friends and helping out in school clubs.
n Anna Tomiczek is in the sixth grade at Maryville Intermediate School. She is the daughter of James and Nicole Tomiczek, of Maryville. Anna's favorite subject is creative writing. She also enjoys playing soccer, reading, writing, skiing, drawing and beading.
n Courtney Whited is a ninth-grader at William Blount's Ninth Grade Academy. She is the daughter of Amanda Ellis, of Maryville. Her favorite subject in school is English. Courtney enjoys acting, debating and she writes short stories.
