MADISONVILLE -- A Madisonville woman was arrested Sunday evening after she returned to the residence where she was suspected of chasing someone with a bat and almost ran over another person while driving through the yard.
According to Madisonville Police Officer Chris Williams, James Black, Houston Street, Madisonville, said that Donna Bradley, Stinnett Ridge Road, Madisonville, came to his residence and chased him with a baseball bat. He said when Bradley was leaving she tried to run over a 46-year-old woman visitor with her car by driving through the yard across the street.
About 30 minutes later Officer Williams returned to the residence because Bradley had returned. When he arrived he said that Bradley was very belligerent, yelling, cursing and appeared intoxicated.
Williams said that Bradley said she had been drinking beer, so he attempted to arrest her on public intoxication charge and she became combative. He said she tried to get away and attack Black. Williams said. "She had to be taken to the ground to restrain her from hurting herself," he said.
Bradley was then taken to the jail where she continued to be combative with jail staff and reportedly attempted suicide by hanging in the jail.
She was charged with public intoxication and resisting arrest.
