Tellico club to feature Durkot

The Tellico Village Garden Club will meet Oct. 1 at the Tellico Village Yacht Club. Shalena Durkot, from Meadow View Nursery, will be guest speaker. She is a graduate of the University of Tennessee with a degree in horticulture and landscape design. Her topic will be "Getting it Right Here in East Tennessee."
She will cover many aspects of gardening, including how to deal with clay soil and some good drought/disease tolerant plants for this area.
Social and snack time will be at 12:30 p.m. and the meeting begins at 12:45 p.m.
