PERFORMERS

The Dirty Guv'nahs

WHEN:
6:30 p.m.

FROM: Knoxville

MEMBERS: James Trimble, Justin Hoskins, Aaron Hoskins, Michael Jenkins, Chris Doody, Mitch Stewart

MOST RECENT ALBUM: "The Dirty Guv'nahs"

ONLINE: www.thedirtyguvnahs.com

THEY SAID: "Five years ago, I didn't know how to even play guitar, and I'd never sung in front of anybody in my life, aside from Christmas carols or a church service," Trimble told The Daily Times last week. "About four years ago, I picked up an acoustic guitar, and it was really just for fun -- I wanted to come up with songs to sing around a campfire. Then, the band fell together as a happenstance thing, and now I'm driving by these billboards for the Foothills Fall Festival and thinking, 'Oh man -- we're playing that! This is great!'"

Little River Band

WHEN:
7:30 p.m.

FROM: Australia originally; most of the current members are American

MEMBERS: Mel Watts, Rich Herring, Greg Hind, Wayne Nelson, Chris Marion

MOST RECENT ALBUM: "We Call It Christmas" (2007)

ONLINE: www.littleriverband.com

THEY SAID: "'Cool Change' has been the song that got people through really hard times universally," Nelson told us this week. "That song and where it is and what we've done to it to pack even more emotion into it is what hits people the hardest in the heart. You can't take it for granted, and you've got to deliver it when you play."

Kansas

WHEN:
9 p.m.

FROM: Topeka, Kansas

MEMBERS: Phil Ehart, Billy Greer, Rich Williams, Steve Walsh, David Ragsdale

MOST RECENT ALBUM: "Works in Progress" (2006 compilation album)

Homer Hart

WHEN:
1:30 p.m.

FROM: Knoxville

ONLINE: www.myspace.com/homerhartmusic

HE SAID: "I try to have a good time, because that's what it's about," Hart told us this week. "As long as you're having a good time, everybody else will have a good time. I'm not all that great of a vocalist or a guitar player, but I don't think you have to be the best, as long as you're nice to people and you're entertaining."

Mic Harrison and The High Score

WHEN:
2:30 p.m.

FROM: Knoxville

MOST RECENT ALBUM: "The Right Side of the Grass" (2008)

ONLINE: www.micharrison.com

THEY SAID: "I think what we do is just (best described as) American rock 'n' roll," Harrison told us this week. "We've got a little country in there, and that's very American, but we're definitely a rock band. If you listen to Creedence (Clearwater Revival) -- they're not a country band; they're a rock band. But they're a very distinct American rock band, and that's what we are."

Trailer Choir

WHEN:
4 p.m.

FROM: Nashville

MEMBERS: Crystal Hoyt, "Big" Vinny Hickerson, Mark "Butter" Fortney

ONLINE: www.chrisyoungcountry.com

HE SAID: "We're just working hard to keep 'Getting You Home' going up the chart and trying to sell records and let the fans know that I appreciate everybody," Young told us this week. "This is something I've dreamed about since I was a kid, and the fact that I've got a song sitting at No. 3 right now blows my mind."

Alan Jackson

THEY SAID: "For us, our fans have been absolutely the best from the get-go," Hubbard told us this week. "It's been really flattering in the last couple of years -- Mark will ask from the stage how many people have seen us before, and we're getting a whole new crop of fans coming for the first time, based on the reputation that they're going to have a good time at a Sawyer Brown show."
