TELLICO PLAINS -- The Charles Hall Museum and East Tennessee Pioneer Museum is set to open at noon today, featuring historical AT&T equipment from a 1922 T-model Ford repair truck to telephone switchboards and teletypes.
The history of AT&T is in large measure the history of the telephone industry in the United States. AT&T's roots stretch back to 1875, with founder Alexander Graham Bell's invention of the telephone.
The museum is located at 229 Cherohala Skyway in Tellico Plains. State Rep. Jimmy Matlock and AT&T employees will join other officials at the grand opening ceremonies. The public is invited.
