A second individual has been arrested in connection with an Oct. 7 home invasion in Rockford where a family of four restrained a man who allegedly broke down their door and threatened them with an assault rifle.
Joseph Lee Adam White, 24, Graves Road, Maryville, was arrested Tuesday by Blount County Sheriff's deputies on a charge of criminal responsibility for aggravated robbery.
According to information from the Blount County Sheriff's Office, White was charged in connection with an incident involving John William Carpenter, 30, Knoxville -- who was arrested Oct. 7 after individuals at a Rockford residence contacted authorities, alleging he had pushed through the door while they were sitting on the couch. Carpenter was being held in lieu of bonds totaling $150,000 on charges of aggravated burglary, aggravated robbery and aggravated kidnapping.
The report does not mention another individual being present during the break-in and no information was available from the Sheriff's Office as to White's involvement in the incident, other than to say his arrest was connected to it.
White was free on a $25,000 bond pending a 9 a.m. Oct. 26 hearing in Blount County General Sessions Court.
