Fire damages home on Everett Avenue

No injuries were reported in connection with a fire at 1122 Everett Avenue in Maryville Saturday. The source of the blaze has yet to be determined.
According to information from the Maryville Fire Department, firefighters received the report of the fire at 5:27 p.m. and were on the scene by 5:31 p.m. Emergency vehicles crowded down the narrow street and fire hoses stretched dozens of feet to the nearest fire hydrant.
The residents in the home were alerted to the fire by smoke detectors and were all able to get out of the house and call 9-1-1 without incident. Firefighters had the fire under control by 5:41 p.m.
In all, 17 firefighters responded to the house fire with five vehicles. Fire damage was confined to a bathroom in the house and a single hallway -- though, smoke and heat damage was found throughout the house.
Firefighters cleared the scene of the fire at about 8:40 p.m.
Investigation into the fire is ongoing.
