Blount County area Halloween activities gearing up for frights, fun

Halloween is Saturday night, but if you don't want to wait in the garden to try and get a glimpse of The Great Pumpkin, there's plenty of other activities taking place to help you celebrate:
The second annual Trunks & Treats Halloween celebration will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at New Midland Plaza, located in Alcoa.
Maple Lane Farms (1040 Maple Lane, Greenback) is turning its 11th Annual Corn Maze into a haunted attraction starting at dusk Friday and Saturday. No pets are allowed, and the event wraps up this weekend. Admission is $11 for 12 and up, $9 for kids 6-11 and not recommended for 5 and under. For more information, call 856-3517.
Blount Mansion will present its annual "Ghosts and Ghouls Walking Tour" of downtown Knoxville at 7 p.m. Friday. Admission is $8 for adults ($6 for students), and the mansion is located at 200 W. Hill Ave. in downtown Knoxville. For more information, call 525-2375.
For the Last Friday Art Walk tonight, the 16-piece big band known as The Streamliners will transform into "The Screamliners" for a special Halloween show at The Capitol Theatre, 127 W. Broadway Ave. in downtown Maryville. Patrons are encouraged to dress up and swing to popular Halloween dance hits beneath classic horror videos on the big screen. It begins at 9 p.m. Friday; admission is $12 in advance and $15 at the door. Call 980-1966.
