Recycling bins are defended

Dear Editor:
My child attends Fairview Elementary School. Recently, it was brought to my attention that there has been an effort to remove the recycling bins located there. I was shocked to hear this was even being considered as an option!
This is the third Elementary school my daughter has attended and I have never seen a school more dedicated to not only preserving the planet but directly impacting the environment of our community. The things my child has learned here will become crucial life skills she will take with her where ever she goes in life. I can't imagine anyone actually allowing such a beneficial program to be ended.
I wish our schools took such a proactive approach to educating today's children on how to care for their planet. If these skills were taught to my generation and the ones before me our planet would be a much healthier place to live.
Sincerely,
Amber Currier
