Two-vehicle accident sends two to hospital

A mid-morning accident near Browns Creek Shopping center Tuesday sent two drivers to separate hospitals and snarled traffic on East Lamar Alexander Parkway in Maryville for nearly an hour.
According to Maryville Police Chief Tony Crisp, at about 10:20 a.m., Elizabeth Clark, 61, was traveling eastbound in the right-hand lane of East Lamar Alexander Parkway in a 2002 F-150 pickup when Tonya Riddle, 23, driving a 1997 Ford Taurus, attempted to turn left from Chantilly Lane onto the parkway and collided with the truck.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
Individuals involved were:
Tonya Riddle, 23, East Old Topside Road, Louisville, taken to University of Tennessee Medical Center where she was listed in critical condition
Elizabeth Clark, 61, Golden Trail, Greenback, taken to Blount Memorial Hospital where she was treated and released
