International day is Wednesday at Carpenters Middle School, and the seventh-graders are each doing a project about a different country. In the morning, the students will present their projects to Susan Koehl and Dodd Crowe, the seventh grade geography teachers. Then the students will go outside and participate in different activities having to do with other countries. Along with the projects, the Cougar Café is having an International menu with a variety of cuisines. At the end of the day, the seventh grade will have guest speakers from different countries come and speak about their country.
"The students have worked so hard and we are looking forward to the sharing of their knowledge," Koehl said.
Wellness has come into play at Carpenters Middle School. Teachers and staff of the school are doing a Biggest Loser competition relating their efforts to the popular television show. There are 25 participants, and all of them are working hard. In eight weeks they will weigh in and see who has lost the most weight.
