A 43-year-old Maryville man was arrested and charged with sexual exploitation of a minor Monday after being picked up at his place of employment in Knoxville.
David Louis Childress, 43, who listed his place of residence as Maryville but also listed himself as homeless, was being held at the Blount County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
According to information from the Blount County Sheriff's Office, investigators with the HEAT (Hi-Tech Evidence and Technology) Unit/ICAC (Internet Crimes Against Children), have been conducting an investigation on Childress since September. Investigators allegedly found several still images of child pornography on Childress' computer during the course of the investigation.
The U.S. Marshals Service's Smoky Mountain Fugitive Task Force arrested Childress in Knoxville Monday.
He was being held in lieu of a $50,000 on the sexual exploitation charge pending a 9 a.m. Nov. 9 hearing in Blount County General Sessions Court.
