Upcoming book sale to benefit Boys & Girls Clubs

More than 220,000 new books including thousands of recently released titles will be available for purchase at the Boys & Girls Clubs Million Dollar Book Sale.
The sale will be located at the former Bi-Lo Supermarket on Highway 411 South (1715 W. Broadway) in Maryville, as well as at the former Hancock Fabrics in the Edfinancial Center/Windsor Square in Knoxville. The sale is open to the public Nov. 12-15 and Nov. 19-22. Hours are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursdays-Saturdays and from 1 until 6 p.m. Sundays.
For only $40, you will be able to fill a box with the books of your choice, and there is no limit on the number of boxes you may purchase. The average retail value of each box of books is $200-$500.
Coupons are also available for purchase for $40 each and are a great way for individuals and companies to support local organizations, schools or churches. Coupons can be purchased online then given to teachers, youth groups, friends, family members, the Boys & Girls Clubs or other organizations to redeem for a box of books at the sale.
"This is a great opportunity for the community to get a great deal on new books while supporting the Boys & Girls Clubs of Blount County," said Ed Mitchell, chairman of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Blount County advisory board. "It really is a win-win situation."
Sponsors for the event in include American Book Company, WBIR-TV Channel 10, The Daily Times, Lamar Outdoor Advertising, Comcast, WIVK, True Oldies Channel, The Sports Animal, News Talk, Charter Media and Food City. The books, valued at over a million dollars, are being provided by American Book Company.
