Alcoa

2008: The Tornadoes made quick work of visiting Cumberland Gap, thrashing the No. 4 seed, 68-0, at Goddard Field. Alcoa quarterback Chase James was 8-for-8 on the night, connecting for 175 yards and three touchdowns. Sam Thompson was on the receiving end of two TD passes and had five catches in all for 133 yards. Jaron Toney and Tyler Robinson also scored in the contest.

The Tornadoes (10-1) advanced to a second meeting with Christian Academy of Knoxville.

Maryville

2008: The Rebels fell behind 7-0 to Cleveland on an 87-yard touchdown pass in the opening quarter at Shields Stadium, but Maryville roared back with 35 unanswered points to produce a 35-12 first-round victory over the Blue Raiders. Maryville's Chris Jordan had four receptions for 109 yards. Jordan, Buddy Jones,Thomas Shuler, Mason Trenda and Zane Winders scored in the contest.

The Rebels (11-0) advanced to a second meeting with Knoxville West, an upset winner over Red Bank.
