U.S. Cellular is launching a new Calling All Communities campaign to award $100,000 prizes to 10 schools across America.
Two East Tennessee schools were named Calling All Communities 2009 champions and received $100,000 each: Heritage High School in Blount County and Bearden High School in Knoxville.
"I love the fact that there were no strings attached and no time frame for us to use the money," said Sherry Walker, teacher at Heritage High School. "We refer to our new computer room that the money made possible as the "Taj Mahal." It is definitely instilling pride and respect among our students."
U.S. Cellular will launches this year's campaign on Nov. 13. From that Friday through Jan. 15, 2010, anyone 18 years or older can go to any U.S. Cellular store to get a code to vote online for their favorite school.
There is no purchase necessary and you don't have to be a U.S. Cellular customer to vote.
