Maryville City Schools has partnered with the Blount County Health Department to vaccinate the school system's families against the H1N1 virus.
The vaccines will not be available to members of the greater Blount County community. Officials are distributing the vaccinations according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's recommendations concerning its five priority populations.
Health officials will administer the vaccine to families at John Sevier Elementary School from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday or until the vaccine runs out. Officials will administer the vaccine to families at Maryville High School on Nov. 17 and 30. The times will likely be the same as the John Sevier Elementary School clinic, said Sharon Anglim, the system's communications director.
School officials hope to set up another clinic at Maryville Intermediate School, Anglim said.
