The annual Townsend Community Christmas Parade will be held at 2:30 p.m. Dec. 6.
The theme will be "A Patriotic Christmas — Celebrating our Gift of Freedom."
Parade marshals will be veterans of World War II, Korea, Vietnam, Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom/Operation Enduring Freedom.
The parade will begin at 2:30 p.m. in the field near Townsend Visitor Center on East Lamar Alexander Parkway. The gate to the lineup field will open at 10 a.m. The parade will proceed south on East Lamar Alexander Parkway and end at the Nawger Nob Craft Settlement.
Persons must submit an entry form in order to participate. Only those who have turned in a signed entry form will be allowed to enter the line-up field. Entry forms must be received no later than Dec. 4.
Registration forms can be picked up at Townsend City Hall or at the Mary E. Tippitt Memorial Library.
Forms may be mailed to Christmas Parade, 316 Domar Drive. Townsend 37882; returned in person to the library or city hall; or faxed to Townsend City Hall at 448-0908.
