In honor of World Day for the Prevention of Abuse and Violence Against Children, New Hope Blount County Children's Advocacy Center, along with community volunteers and supporter, are collecting pledges and racking up miles to stop child abuse in Blount County.

Participants are invited to start their efforts now in completing 55 miles/activities either by running, biking, walking, taking exercise classes, riding their lawn mower around town, or whatever creative activity they can come up with in support of New Hope.

The fundraiser will culminate with a two-day fun walk/run/ride starting at 9 a.m. Friday at Dancing Bear Lodge in Townsend. At 9 a.m. Saturday, the 21st walk/run/ride will begin at Heritage Middle School and converge between 11 a.m. and noon at the Blount County Courthouse.
