Three in custody after drug bust

Three people are being held in the Blount County Detention Facility, charged with intent to resell drugs after allegedly making $10,000 on drug deals in Virginia.

Alcoa and Maryville officers searched a room at the Family Inn, 2450 Airport Highway, on Nov. 6, and found drug paraphernalia and the narcotics Oxycodone, Endocet and Alprazolam, according to Blount County Sheriff's Office Spokeswoman Marian O'Briant.

Area officers called an investigator with the Fifth Judicial Drug Task Force to the scene and he received consent to search a white Dodge Caravan with Florida tags.

Law enforcement officials seized nearly $10,000 from one of the suspects, who said that the money was from drug sales in Virginia, O'Briant said.

Arrests and charges

-- Lela Sise Russell, 26, Dania, Florida, was charged with possession of a Schedule II controlled substance with intent to resell. Russell is being held a the Blount County Detention Facility on $75,000 bond pending a November 18 hearing Blount County General Sessions Court at 9 a.m.

-- William Shawn Hart, 25, Miser Station Road, Louisville, was charged with possession of a Schedule II controlled substance with intent to resell, as well as violation of probation. Hart is being held on a $20,000 bond, pending a November 18 hearing in Blount County General Sessions Court at 9 a.m.

-- Roscoe Lee Burton, 35, Miama, Fla., was charged with possession of a Schedule II controlled substance with intent to resell. Burton is being held on a $75,000 bond, pending a November 18 hearing in Blount County General Sessions Court at 9 a.m.
