Treated for injuries
Deputies responded to a residence on Sevierville Road shortly after midnight Saturday to the call of a carjacking. The victim, Kimberly Sue Hatcher, 48, told deputies that after getting out of her vehicle in her driveway, a man approached her, displaying a knife and demanded her car keys.
She gave him the keys, and he pushed her down, causing her to hit her head, knee and hand. The man then left in her 2004 Mazda RX8, followed by another vehicle that was in the vicinity.
Hatcher was taken by Rural/Metro Ambulance Service to Blount Memorial Hospital for treatment to her injuries, and released.
Car at Meadowood Apartments
During the course of the investigation, a tip came in Sunday morning that the stolen Mazda belonging to Ms. Hatcher was parked at Meadowood Apartments on North Wright Road.
Deputies spoke with the residents of the apartment in which the vehicle was parked. They made contact with Brittney Loser and Christopher Dotson. They were both taken into custody, and Dotson confessed that he had stolen the vehicle from Ms. Hatcher.
Further investigation revealed that a 16-year-old boy, as well as another suspect who is not yet in custody, was part of the foursome involved in the robbery. Sunday morning, deputies responded to a residence on Burns Street in Alcoa and took the youth into custody.
Two vehicles recovered
Two stolen vehicles were recovered from this incident – the 2004 Mazda RX8, as well as the 2004 Toyota Camry.
