A Maryville man was charged with aggravated assault after he allegedly pulled a knife on a Blount County Sheriff's deputy.

Steven Lynn Rauhuff, 47, Huffstetler Road, was charged at 6:44 p.m. Friday.

The deputy was answering a disturbance call to the Rauhuff residence.

According to the police report, when the deputy entered the house Rauhuff, got up from a chair, opened a 3-inch pocket knife and started to raise it in a threatening manner.

The deputy used a Taser on Rauhuff and then commanded him to drop the knife, which he did.

Rauhuff was then arrested and charged. He was jailed in lieu of $25,000 bond pending an appearance at 1:30 p.m. Nov. 25 in Blount County General Sessions Court.
