On a holiday weekend filled with high school and college football, there's still room for basketball.

The Heritage Thanksgiving tournament gives area fans a chance to see all eight Blount County high school teams in action under one roof.

The opening tipoff at Heritage will be Friday at noon, with the Maryville girls taking on Jefferson County, followed by the Maryville boys facing the Jefferson County boys.

The second pair of games, slated for 3 p.m., will feature the Lady Governors of William Blount against Hardin Valley, with the Govs to follow against the Hardin boys squad. In the evening pairing, the Lady Mountaineers will host Campbell County at 6 p.m., and the Mountaineers will take on the Campbell County boys team in the nightcap.

The times remain the same on Saturday, but the rotation changes, with William Blount's girls facing Jefferson County at noon, followed by the Govs taking on the Jefferson County boys. Maryville gets the 1:30 p.m. start, with the Lady Rebels playing Campbell County and the Rebels to follow.

The evening games again feature host Heritage, with the girls playing Hardin Valley at 6 and the Mountaineers in the nightcap.
