Atlanta-based Acadia Healthcare has announced the acquisition of Peninsula Village in Louisville from Parkwest Medical Center, Knoxville.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Peninsula Village, a 145-bed residential treatment center, is a residential treatment center serving adolescents ages 13-17 suffering from emotional and/or behavioral disorders who have not responded to less intensive treatment approaches.

The facility's name will change to The Village. Under Acadia ownership, The Village will look to continue to provide the same level of commitment to quality care that has been a hallmark at Peninsula Village for over 20 years, according to an Acadia news release.

Peninsula Behavioral Health and Peninsula Hospital were not part of the Acadia acquisition and remain part of Covenant Health, the health-care company that also operates Parkwest.
