Wreck on Coulter Bridge; six people taken to area hospitals

A head-on collision at 8:45 a.m. today on Coulter Bridge at the intersection of Old Walland Highway and Tuckaleechee Pike has sent six people to area hospitals.
Rhonda Sue Reagan, 40, Pinewood Drive, Maryville, was traveling west in a 2002 Volkswagen Beetle on Tuckaleechee Pike near the intersection of Old Walland Highway when she crossed over the double yellow line and struck a 1997 Chevrolet Venture minivan that was traveling east.
Reagan was taken by Lifestar to the University of Tennessee Medical Center where she is listed in critical condition.
Reagan was alone in her car. She was not wearing a seatbelt, but her air bag did deploy.
The van's driver, Georgia E. Bowers, 61, Deerfield Circle, Maryville, was taken by Rural/Metro Ambulance Service to UT Medical Center.
Four other passengers in the van were also taken to area hospitals:
Ofelia T. Gonzalez, 56, Willow Creek Circle, Maryville, was taken by Lifestar to UT Medical Center;
Jessica O. Vance, 34, County Farm Road, Friendsville, was taken by Rural/Metro Ambulance Service to Blount Memorial Hospital;
Renae A. Clemons, 39, South Farnum Street, Friendsville, was taken by Rural/Metro Ambulance Service to UT Medical Center;
Denise D. Hagy, 31, Island Drive, Maryville, was taken by Rural/Metro Ambulance Service to Blount Memorial Hospital.
Conditions of the minivan's occupants were not available.
All occupants in the minivan were wearing their seatbelts; and the driver and passenger side air bags did deploy.
The Sheriff's Office Traffic Safety Unit is conducting an investigation into the accident.
