Anthony Todd Ghormley — who was sentenced in November to serve 105 years for attempted murder, assault and kidnapping — will not be facing additional charges, County Assistant District Attorney General Ellen Berez said Monday morning.

While in the Blount County Detention facility, Ghormley racked up additional charges, which included possessing contraband materials, vandalism and assault, Berez said.

But she said Monday she would ask that those charges be dismissed, since Ghormley will already likely be spending the rest of his life in prison.

Ghormley was found guilty in September of two counts of attempted first-degree murder, three counts of aggravated assault, one count of especially aggravated kidnapping and one count of especially aggravated burglary.

The conviction stems from a September 2007 incident in which Ghormley beat his now ex-wife Karen Vandyke, Vandyke's cousin Candy Bussey and her grandmother Gaynell Head with an aluminum baseball bat. Ghormley then held Head hostage for several hours.
