Police arrested a Blount County man Saturday and charged him with intent to sell cocaine after a traffic stop, according to a police report.
Robert Louis Sudderth, 45, was being held in lieu of $25,000 pending a Feb. 11 court date on charges of Schedule II drug possession with intent to sell.
Alcoa police officer Jeremy Patty said in his police report that he noticed Sudderth's car driving south on Steele Street that had a “significant amount of smoke coming from the exhaust system that was obstructing the view of the roadway and was annoying in nature,” so he stopped the car.
Police didn't find any illegal drugs in the car, but found cocaine on his person.
“A small white rock believed to be crack cocaine was located in Mr. Sudderth's left front pants pocket,” Patty said.
Officers also found marijuana inside his left shoe, and two different types of prescription pills.
They found a total of four rocks that equaled .7 grams of cocaine, according to the report.
“Based on the packaging, number and weight of cocaine and Mr. Sudderth's prior drug history, he was taken into custody for possession of Schedule II drugs with intent to sell/distribute,” Patty said in the report.
