Traffic stops turn up drugs, lead to arrests

Authorities arrested four men on drug charges after two separate traffic stops, according to police reports.
Blount County deputies Friday arrested David Sherrod Williams, 20, Howe Street, Alcoa, and charged him with Schedule II drug possession with intent to sell. He was released on a $20,000 bond pending a Feb. 10 court date.
During the same traffic stop, deputies also arrested Devan Edward Jennings, 18, W. Fulton Street, Alcoa, and charged him with Schedule VI drug possession and Schedule II drug possession with intent to sell. Jennings was released on bonds totaling $21,000 pending a Feb. 10 court date.
After a different traffic stop Sunday, Alcoa police arrested William M. Johnson, 20, Stonybrook Road, Louisville, and charged him with Schedule VI drug possession with intent to sell. He was released on a $5,000 bond pending a Feb. 11 court date.
During that stop, Alcoa officers also arrested a 17-year-old Alcoa male, and charged him with simple possession of a Schedule II controlled substance.
