Maryville man charged with child rape

MADISONVILLE — A man with addresses in Maryville and Madisonville was arrested over the weekend following an investigation and an interview with a 9-year-old boy who said the man molested him.
Larry Cordin, 49, who listed recent addresses as 1808 Brooke Avenue, Maryville, and Gudger Lane, Madisonville, was charged with two counts of rape of a child. He was being held in the Monroe County Jail on a $200,000 bond.
Monroe County Lt. Det. Jennifer Bledsoe said that the child made a statement during a forensic interview that Cordin had molested him in July 2009.
Bledsoe also said that Cordin made a recorded statement on July 3, 2009 that he had engaged in sexual relations with the child during the first of May 2009.
Bledsoe said due to the statements of the victim and the accused, she filed the charges against Cordin.
