Buy at local businesses

Dear Editor:
I would like to add to your readers’ letter of Jan. 10, 2010, (Volunteer to buy from local stores”). Like a lot of people, these days I have more time and projects than I do money, so I have rolled up my sleeves and tackled projects that would normally be given to “the professionals.”
Several of these jobs required skills that I did not have, but the folks at places like Allied Electric, Foothills Hardware, Maryville Fasteners, and Reagan Steel patiently worked with me, answered all my questions and helped ensure everything worked right.
I would tell your readers that, based on my experiences, using Blount County businesses to help you with your projects can be both satisfying and rewarding. And you will probably save yourself some money.
