Food City and the American Red Cross are partnering to help soldiers from East Tennessee get the personal care items they need while deployed.
Between now and March 21, Food City customers may purchase a $10 comfort care bag for a solider, and the Red Cross will send it to local servicemen and women.
Each kit will contain the following Department of Defense-approved items: Chapstick, soap, lotion, deodorant, hand sanitizer, eye drops, body wash/wipes, powder, Q-tips, sunscreen, toothpaste, toothbrush, Tylenol, aspirin, pretzels, nuts, crackers, trail mix, chewing gum, blow pops, beef jerky, cookies, mints and powdered mix for water bottles.
Participating Blount County Food City stores are located at 131 N. Hall Road, 2135 E. Broadway and 1644 W. Broadway.
