Montessori Middle School is now enrolling students for a seven-week summer program of “Fun Science.”
Students will engage in hands-on experiments, nature study and science projects, supplemented by arts, games, language arts and physical activity. The program will be led by MMS’s own Mik Burns, a state-certified teacher.
“We’ll have fun with science,” Burns said of the program, “indoors and out, wet and dry, noisy and quiet. ‘Fun Science’ will be a great opportunity to get our hands and minds in action this summer.”
Each Friday, students will share a special, hot meal provided by the MMS board and supplemented by produce from the school’s gardens.
The term begins June 14 and runs through July 30, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is open to students in rising first through eighth grades, but space is limited to ensure that all students receive adequate instructional attention. Tuition is $140 per week, $125 for additional siblings. The first week’s tuition is due by June 4 and serves as a non-refundable deposit to hold the student’s place. The remaining tuition is payable in three biweekly installments. Extended hours are available for an additional fee.
The MMS Fun Science summer school takes place on our 32-acre campus of meadow, garden and forest at 3725 Louisville Road, Louisville. Forms are available on the school’s Web site: www.montessorimiddle.org.
