Jerry McCall Jones, age 73, of Maryville, passed away Friday, Dec. 20, 2013. He was born to the late Raymond and Joyce Jones. He retired from Farm Credit Services after 34 years of service and was a veteran of the United States Navy having served on the U.S.S. Peterson. Jerry’s energy was devoted to family and friends and he was passionate about making a difference in the lives of others by volunteering for Blount County Sheriff’s Department Senior Outreach, SMiles Program, and AARP Tax Preparation Program. He was an active member of Alcoa First United Methodist Church and he loved to travel and spend time at their condo in Florida. Survivors include his wife, Norma; his children, Amy Calhoun (Jerry) of Lebanon, Tenn., Angela Jones and Michael Jones of Nashville; stepchildren, Tammy Hammonds (Chip) of Athens, Tenn., and Sandra Harber (Bryan) of Aztec, N.M.; and stepgranddaughter, Emily (Jacob) Buckles of Bristol, Tenn. Also survived by brother and sister-in-law, John and Ann Jones, Decatur, Ala.; brother, William (Bill) Jones, Dalton, Ga.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Jack and Joann Potter, Maryville, and Howard and Dorothy (Dottie) Jones, Maryville; several nieces, nephews and great-niece and great-nephews. The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 29, at Alcoa First United Methodist Church with A Celebration of Life Service to follow with Rev. Bruce S. Marston and Rev.
