In the fall, First Tennessee Bank and Capital Bank will become First Horizon Bank as First Horizon National Corp. brings together its family of companies under a unified set of brand names and a new logo.

Also, FTB Advisors and FTN Financial will become First Horizon Advisors and FHN Financial, respectively, the Memphis-based company announced. First Tennessee customers will notice a new name on the logo, but the graphic element paying homage to the state flag will be familiar.

“Our updated logo pays homage to our Tennessee heritage, yet is updated and has a modern look,” said Dave Miller, First Tennessee Bank’s president of the East Tennessee Region. “In many respects, that’s where we are as a company: a Tennessee bank with an incredible heritage of service that is investing and evolving for the long-term.”

The unification of First Horizon’s banking, wealth management and fixed income businesses under a common First Horizon brand represents an important step in the company’s transformation strategy, introduced at its 2018 Investor Day, the company said in a statement.

“We have a 155-year legacy of transforming our business to meet our customers’ needs and responding to changing environments,” said Bryan Jordan, president and CEO of First Horizon.

The brand will be introduced in the fall through an advertising campaign, rebranding of financial centers, corporate buildings and customer communication channels.

Enhancements for customers include new products, enriched technology and customer innovation labs, according to the company.

Forbes employer list

On Wednesday, First Horizon National Corp. announced it had been named by Forbes as one of America’s Best Large Employers of 2019. Forbes’ recognition of First Horizon in the Banking and Financial Services Industry was based on surveying company and industry employees on their perception of the company.

In partnership with market research company Statista, Forbes surveyed 50,000 U.S. employees working for large corporations and asked them to rate, on a scale of zero to 10, their willingness to recommend their employers.

Based on the survey results, First Horizon was ranked 184th out of 500.
