Fly the Friendly Skies to Newark Liberty

A 150-seat United Airlines Airbus A320 prepares for takeoff Thursday at McGhee Tyson Airport as firetrucks celebrate the launch of United’s second daily round-trip flight to its hub at Newark Liberty International Airport. This is United’s first “mainline” aircraft to serve McGhee Tyson since October 2001, and offers both first-class and economy seating.

United Airlines launched a second daily round-trip flight from McGhee Tyson Airport to their hub at Newark Liberty International Airport on Thursday. 

The new flight will be flown with a 150-seat Airbus A320 aircraft, which offers both first class and economy seating. 

As the first United Airlines "mainline" aircraft to serve McGhee Tyson since October 2001, Caitlin Darras, Metropolitan Knoxville Airport Authority public relations specialist, the former overall downsizing trent is now returning to larger aircraft.
