Mel Scroggins shows Sylvia Galde a wood wall-hanging he made as she visits New Midland Plaza’s Spring Arts & Crafts Fair in May 2018.

The New Midland Plaza Spring Arts & Crafts Fair is happening today and Saturday at the shopping center on Calderwood Street in Alcoa.

The fair is being held from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on both days. It will be held rain or shine, organizers say. Most booths will be on the covered sidewalk.

Admission is free.

Among the crafters scheduled to set up for the fair: Buju Blades, Kat-Mac’s Cakes, Sandies Stitching Kitchen, Maryville Arts District, Mountain Creek Creations, Twisted Sister Boutique, Dragonfly Essentials and Knotyourleather.

Food trucks on hand will include: Hawg Dawgs, Small Town BBQ and Softee Serve Ice Cream.
