This week the grocery stores are starting special sales events, and with planning you will be able to take advantage to put extra products in your kitchen.

Food City has a Special Friday event with select items priced at $5. One of my favorite items is the pick five meat items, regular priced at $19.99, and this Friday the store has an extra $5 off.

Additionally, Kroger has started a buy-five-save-five mix-and-match sale event that will last for two weeks. With this sale, a few items will have coupons to match, reducing the price further.

Food Lion’s promotion is get $5 for every $20 spent on participating products, which will be tracked on your store card, allowing you to review up to $40 on your Food Lion store card.

Remember, as you save money with couponing, make sure you take advantage of your savings with the 52-week money-saving plan. This is the 22 week of the year, so you would place $22 into your savings program. This would leave a new savings balance of $253 toward your year-end goal of $1,378.
