Historic Downtown Maryville’s Artist Summer Showcase will be presented from 2-9 p.m. on Saturday, June 25, at Skyview At Broadway Social, 101 E. Broadway Ave., Suite B in Maryville. The event is free, and live music will be provided.
The artists involved in this show include Charles Finley, a watercolorist who began painting home portraits in the summer of 2020, and by January of 2021 was painting full time; Michael Day works in acrylics with landscapes, seascapes, portraits and pets; Brynn McMillan painted mannequins and abstract emotion art and has been creating since middle school; Susan Verekar paints with oil on canvas and inks on paper.
Jessica Burleson is an acrylic artist who paints on various surfaces including canvas, velvet and natural wood, while Pinkie Mistry works with oil on canvas, palette knife textured art, florals and mountain themes. She grew up in East Tennessee and her art depicts nature related to the area.
Nathan Tipton works in mixed media; Ashley Douglas uses art as a way to explore absurdism, memes and human nature.
