Carpenters Middle School has had some pretty “chill” events.
To start, the Junior Beta Club made blankets for the elderly at Clover Hill Senior Living. Student Council members delivered these blankets, along with cards they made, on Dec. 19.
Two clubs had concerts last month. The CMS choir, combined with Union Grove Middle and William Blount High, had a winter concert on Dec. 6. The CMS band played many Christmas-themed songs at its Dec. 13 concert. On the same date as the CMS band concert, the school held a spaghetti dinner and related arts showcase.
The CMS band and choir have started practicing and preparing music for their respective spring concerts.
Students in 4-H collected Hot Hands for local law enforcement. Student Council is selling bracelets to raise money for new benches outside the eighth grade wing.
Advanced Learners went on a field trip to downtown Maryville on Jan. 11. They visited the Blount County Chamber of Commerce and the courthouse.
