WILL YAGER FACULTY RECITAL AT THE CLAYTON CENTER: Will Yager, bassist and adjunct instructor of music at Maryville College, will present a faculty recital with cellist Kathryn York at 7 tonight in the Lambert Recital Hall of the Clayton Center for the Arts, 502 E. Lamar Alexander Parkway on the MC campus. The program will include “Duet for Bass and Cello” by Edgar Meyer, “Three Duets for Violin and Piano” by Dmitri Shostakovich, “Paris Skies” by Nicholas Walker, “An Dassa Choof!” by Nicholas Walker, “Duet for Cello and Double Bass” by Domenico Dragonetti and “Hymn II” by Alfred Schnittke. Dr. Christy Lee, Maryville College lecturer in collaborative piano and orchestra conductor, will serve as accompanist for part of the program. Yager, a performer and educator residing in Knoxville, earned a bachelor’s degree in music from Maryville College and a master of music degree from the University of Tennessee, and his musical activities run the gamut from jazz and orchestral to contemporary and experimental music. In addition to his busy performing schedule, Yager maintains teaching posts at Maryville College and the University of North Alabama. The recital is free and open to the public.
