Kristin Leigh Irwin, daughter of Mark and Deanna Irwin, of Springhill, Tenn., is engaged to marry Spencer Garrett Womble, son of Gay and Melody (Bock) Womble, of Tallassee, Tenn. on June 22, 2019, at 12 noon at the home the groom’s parents by Chilhowee Lake. The wedding is invitation only.
The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Shirley Irwin and the late Earl Irwin of Gallatin, Tenn. The future bridegroom is the grandson of the late George Bock and the late Joyce Bock, of Chattanooga, Tenn.; and the late Marion Womble and the late Katherine Womble, of Savannah, Tenn.
The bride-to-be is a 2016 graduate of the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies with a focus in malacology, completed a Master’s degree in Wildlife and Fisheries Science in 2018 and currently works as a science research assistant for Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, Tenn.
The future bridegroom is a 2016 graduate of the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies with a minor in watershed studies. Womble worked for a year for a private environmental company, then began pursuing a Master’s degree in Biology from Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, Tenn. Womble will graduate in August 2019 and currently teaches undergraduate biology at Tennessee Tech.
