Amber Nichole Potter, daughter of Don and Linda Potter, is engaged to marry Hunter Gehron Tidwell, son of Mike and Annette Tidwell, on July 6, 2019, in Friendsville. The wedding is invitation only.

The bride-to-be’s grandparents are the late Ruth Woody, of Maryville; the late Donnie “Big Don” Ogle Sr., of Jacksboro; the late Leonard “Bud” Potter and Wanda Potter, of Louisville; and honorary grandparents, Travis and Teresa Atkins, of Maryville.

The bride-to-be is a 2014 graduate of Alcoa High School and a 2018 graduate of Maryville College, with a B.A. in Writing Communication. She works at The Daily Times.

The groom-to-be’s grandparents are Wendell and Brenda Whitehead, of Maryville; Lonnie and Loretta Tidwell, of Maryville; and Monie Bullard, of Maryville.

The groom-to-be is also a 2014 graduate of Alcoa High School, attended Darton State College in Albany, Ga. and Austin Peay State University in Clarksville. He works at Denso.
