The Kiwanis Club of Maryville will hold its 24th Annual Pancake Breakfast from 7:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, at the Maryville High School Cafeteria. Tickets are on sale from any Maryville Kiwanian or can be purchased at the door for $5 each (children under 10 are admitted free with an adult). Email for more information.

Kids Need Kiwanis is Kiwanis International’s campaign slogan this year. Kiwanis Club of Maryville strives to serve the children of Blount County and the community. They support such diverse programs as Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, Leadership Adventure Camp, Circle K at Maryville College, Key Clubs at Maryville and Heritage High Schools, Builders’ Clubs at Eagleton and Heritage Middle Schools, Montgomery Ridge Intermediate School, and Maryville Junior High School, Boys and Girls Club, Big Brothers & Sisters, Elementary School Reading Assistance, Newspapers in Education and Blount County Youth Court.

Kiwanis Club of Maryville’s success depends on two major factors personal involvement of its members in these programs and their collective ability to raise the money required to fund these programs.

Sponsors and boosters are now being sought. Sponsors receive 25 tickets. There are three levels of sponsorships:

• Imagination Library Sponsors donate $1,000 which is used to provided monthly books to all Blount County children from birth to age five.

• Leadership Adventure Camp Sponsors donate $500, which is used to train 35 8th graders every July at Camp Wesley Woods.

• Youth Sponsors donate $250 which is used to fund two Key Clubs, four Builders Clubs, and the Circle K Club.

• Boosters donate $125 that is used to help support the Second Harvest Food Bank, Boys and Girls Club, Big Brothers and Sisters, Boy and Girl Scouts of America and the Blount County Youth Court.
