A Pickleball Boot Camp will be held May 27-31 on the campus of Maryville College. Pro pickleball players and instructors from around the county will be leading the camp. Pickleball players from all levels will be grouped together to get instruction and work to improve skills.

Pickleball is a paddle sport that is similar to badminton, tennis and table tennis. The game is played by two to four players who hit a ball similar to a wiffle ball over a net.

In addition to the boot camp, there will be a book signing event featuring Jennifer Lucore, author of "History of Pickleball," at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28, at RT Lodge, 1406 Wilkinson Pike, Maryville.

To register for the boot camp, go to www.suncoastpickleballlassociation.com/maryville-pb-boot-camp.htm. For more information, call Coach Russell at 813-298-2022 or Norman Weathersby at 865-300-9691.
